2022 has seen Franko Gonzo absolutely explode onto the Aussie glitter-pop scene with her infectiously danceable party tracks. The breakthrough pop-princess graced us with the energetic singles “Planet” and “Get Skool’d” earlier this year, and isn’t slowing down by any means as she launches into her “Do Better” era.
Written during a virtual songwriting camp in lockdown back in 2020, “Do Better” explores a dual perspective of two women stuck on both sides of a love triangle, and how ultimately the power is out of their hands. The track was developed with artist RISSA and producer Harry Patrick, and while definitely fitting seamlessly into the established Gonzo catalog, you can definitely taste the R&B-electro collaboration seasoning.
As society moves towards post-pandemic life, the tram sounds and raw lyricism in “Do Better” makes it a Gonzo time-capsule of lockdown heartache. With that being said, it’s definitely a track to dance-sob to.
